GIIRS is rolling out a suite of GIIRS Index products over the next twelve months. GIIRS Indices will make it easy for investors to benchmark their portfolio performance, both at the company and fund level, and on specific impact areas and individual performance metrics consistent with their investment focus.
The initial indices for benchmarking company and fund level performance are:
GIIRS Company Indices:
- The GIIRS Global Company Index – a measurement of the median score of all GIIRS rated companies.
- The GIIRS Emerging Markets Company Index – a measurement of the median score of all GIIRS rated companies in the emerging markets.
- The GIIRS North American Company Index – a measurement of the median score of all GIIRS rated companies in North America.
GIIRS Fund Indices:
- The GIIRS Global Fund Index – a measurement of the median score of all GIIRS rated funds.
- The GIIRS Emerging Markets Fund Index - a measurement of the median score of all GIIRS rated funds in the emerging markets.
- The GIIRS North American Fund Index - a measurement of the median score of all GIIRS rated funds in North America.
GIIRS Index products will be listed for transparent public use on the GIIRS.org website and updated quarterly, with a list of all rated companies or funds composing each GIIRS Index. Upon reaching critical mass of rated companies and funds for each GIIRS Index, the list of companies outperforming the GIIRS Index will also be publicly available on GIIRS.org.
Subscribers to GIIRS Analytics, the data, analytical, and reporting tool, will be able to access data on each of the GIIRS Index products and the individual companies and funds that comprise them, including data on those companies and funds outperforming the GIIRS Index. GIIRS Analytics subscribers will also be able to benchmark the performance of their own company and fund level investments against the GIIRS Index.
As more companies and funds are rated on GIIRS, we will release additional GIIRS Index products that go beyond median benchmarking to isolate high impact performance in specific impact areas, industries, geographies, and key performance indicators. For example:
- The GIIRS Poverty Index – a measurement of the percentage score on a combination of poverty-related indicators required to achieve the 60th percentile of all GIIRS rated companies on those indicators.
- The GIIRS Sustainability Index
- The GIIRS Large Company Index
- The GIIRS African Agriculture Index
